Svenja, I think you should narrate your poems more often! It is a delight to read and listen to your poem. Your poetry comes alive. 👏🌹

Thank you so much! I’m pondering if I should consider it, as it gives a new dimension to it.
      I’m happy youlike it! 💚

I’m afraid I’m running out of time and energy. I’m still recovering from the combined effects of working two hard hospital shifts and a flare-up in Long Covid symptoms, plus I’ve been working through poems all morning. I want to do your poem justice but I’m exhausted. Apologies for having to spend less time on you poem than others.

Rely and Criss Cross is a bold, sensory-driven poem that brings real sonic texture to the prompt, not just through the words themselves but through your spoken delivery. The use of capitalisation, shifting vowels, and enjambment creates a visual and rhythmic syncopation that mirrors the theme of flux and motion. This would be quite an achievement for a native English speaker and is a clear indication of the depth and quality of your poetic craft.

The precise insertion and then repetition of SEE AND HEAR AND TASTE AND SMELL AND FEEL anchor the poem in embodiment, giving your ideas a visible form. The final shift, RELY ON CHANGEABILITY, came across as both a philosophical statement and an emotional release. Though the final noun is implicit rather than explicitly abstract, I fhink the dissolution of insecurity is fully earned. It’s an inventive, courageous response: multilingual, multisensory, and unapologetically experimental. One of my favourites.

If this is your response when you are exhausted I’m quiet impressed! Thank you so much for taking your time and fading strength for this insightful response.

I’m so happy you like it! And I’m happy to have been pushed into allowing my voice to take part while expressing myself!
Thank you for your prompt and all the best to you! Take care and stay healthy!

Svenja, to me, the line „FEEL CADENCES HESiTATE iN CLOUDY SKYS“ seems to distill uncertainty into something almost tangible. This piece really hums with motion and sensory tension.

I so enjoyed hearing you read your poem, I also took up this challenge and it is not easy even when English is my first language, but hearing you read, I am glad I did too – I hope I have provided an added depth that I have experienced listening to you – I feel your words. Lovely 💞

Thank you so much. I wasn’t able to read/hear the other poems, yet. I hope to make this happen soon! But go you! You took it on to read your poem! Let’s celebrate!

This is so kind of you. It is really a special challenge to read out loud. Even in German, it needs a lot of courage. But, it gives the written form a new perspective and a depth, that holds quiet a lot of possibilities.

What pleasure I took in being allowed to hear you read this. The rhythm of the words truly came through!
